{"id":1112,"date":"2022-12-23T11:17:53","date_gmt":"2022-12-23T11:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/purgingword.org\/?p=1112"},"modified":"2023-06-29T05:31:33","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T05:31:33","slug":"keep-gods-word-into-your-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purgingword.org\/?p=1112","title":{"rendered":"Keep God&#8217;s Word Into Your Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Proverbs 3:1-2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><em>\u201cMy son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Stephen, a young college student was told by his father not to be with his classmates anymore for they are bad influences on him. The young man refused to heed his father\u2019s wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">So what happened after that? One night, while Stephen\u2019s family was asleep soundly, Stephen secretly went out with his friends to a night pub, and drink like tomorrow never comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Morning came, and the news reached the family that Stephen was shot dead by a gang member due to an altercation. Sad but it happens<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">The passage tells us that a wise commandment by a parent should not be taken lightly. The Bible says that the wisdom of God must be kept in our hearts because it lengthens our days and years and gives us peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">We make trouble in our lives when we set aside God\u2019s counsel through our parents. Hastiness and pride are like a march to our funeral and tragic end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">That is why we are commanded always by the LORD in His word to always remember the teachings of His law. We must take His every word into our minds and hearts seriously for without His loving and perfect counsel, we are doomed to destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Do you take God\u2019s word seriously in your heart? How can you grow deeper in your obedience to God and honor your parents?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Listen to and keep God\u2019s commandments always in Christ\u2019s name.
