PURGINGWORD Ministries
Our Current Challenge
The current day and age has surpassed the wickedness of the past generations; with the propagation of various false and unbiblical teachings, our generation grieves and suffers from a low view of God’s character, majesty, and the pure word.
Many churches have become spiritually malnourished. The gospel is distorted, holiness is undervalued, and God’s sovereignty is criticized. No wonder many confessing Christians have twisted righteousness and churches filled with false converts (pastors, leaders, and members) and skeptical of scriptural truth.
Hence, many churches have lost their light, saltiness, and purpose to their local community and the world.
Our Calling (Vision)
We desire to see fellow believers of the Lord Jesus in every walk of life as a vessel of honor for his name and living a life that is passionate for the word, for Jesus, for the gospel, and solely for the majesty of God in Spirit (Rom. 11:36; 2 Tim. 2:20-21).
Our strategic approach to this noble endeavor entails faithful handling of the scriptures, equipping, encouraging, and exhorting the saints, whether as pastors, lay leaders, or new disciples of Jesus, for sanctification, reformation of the church, and completeness in Christ (2 Tim. 2:15; Jn. 17:17; Col. 1:28-29).
Our Commitment (Mission)
We are committed to biblical expounding and teaching the whole counsel of God’s Word for spiritual maturity, practical, sound Christian living, discernment, correcting unbiblical teachings, and defeating any falsehood that contradicts God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus.
Likewise, to the pursuit of the recovery of a healthy, biblical view of God’s majestic nature, His holiness and sovereignty, a high view of God’s pure word, and an appreciation of His unfathomable will. And to pursue personal holiness, godly fellowship, commitment to the gospel of Jesus, and being salt and light to the world.
Our Conviction
The hallmark and the foundation of our conviction echoed the five succinct statements of biblical truth known in Latin as the five (5) “Solas,” which means “alone” or “only.” These cardinal beliefs stand on the faithful biblical and doctrinal teachings of the scriptures:
Scriptures Alone (Sola Scriptura) – It teaches that the infallible and inerrant Scripture is the sole source of written divine revelation to which all conscience be bound and the source of all authority. Likewise, the Bible alone teaches all that is needed for our salvation from God’s divine wrath and sin, for sanctification, and the authoritative standard by which all Christian faith and practice must be evaluated (Jn. 17:17; 2 Tim.3:16-17; Heb. 4:12; Acts 17:11; 1 Cor. 4:6).
The Bible is the sufficient, infallible, and inerrant rule for church life, not the culture, society, or any trending fads of today or future generations. Spiritual experience cannot be divorced from scripture.
Therefore, the Spirit does not speak independently or externally from the Bible. The Spirit of God speaks through the Bible, through which we have known God and His grace in Christ.
Grace Alone (Sola Gratia) – It teaches that no man can earn God’s favor and salvation from God’s wrath by any human work, technique, or strategy. “Grace alone” teaches that our salvation is the work and favor of God for those who believe in Christ Jesus so that no one can boast (Eph.2:8-9). This is to say that our confidence is not in our abilities but in God’s gracious work and character.
Faith Alone (Sola Fide) – It teaches that by faith alone in Christ alone, a man can be justified by God. Our justification is not based on our good works or ambition to be good but on the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by which our faith (belief and trust) rests. Since Christ lived perfectly and sinlessly and finished His work on the cross and has defeated sin and death, our faith alone in Christ alone made us acceptable and righteous in the sight of God, and only by His grace (Gal. 2:15-16; 3:6-11; Eph. 2:8-9).
Christ Alone (Solus Christus)—This doctrine teaches that the object of our faith is Christ Jesus alone. It also teaches that the perfect, sinless life and penal substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ alone are enough for us to be justified and reconciled to the Father. Therefore, our salvation is through the finished and perfect work of the biblical and historical Jesus. It also means that our unbending allegiance must be to Christ alone and not to any man (Jn.3:16; 14:6; 1 Tim. 2:5).
God’s Glory Alone (Soli Deo Gloria) – It teaches that everything we do must give glory and majesty to the One who created and saved us. It also says that God must be the center of our worship, desires, practice, and motivation and not replace Him with our self-ambition, human cravings, and own kingdoms. It also teaches that He is forever sovereign and that our salvation, sanctification, and glorification are of God, accomplished by God, and will be finished for His glory alone.
Therefore, our chief end is to worship, delight in, and glorify God today and forever in Christ Jesus (Rom.11:33-36).
In addition, which flows out from the scriptures, all this biblical doctrinal truth is guided by the power, wisdom, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit Alone. There is no way to practice this biblical truth faithfully, humbly, and genuinely apart from the work of the Holy Spirit who indwelt in us (1Cor. 3:16; 6:19; 2Tim. 1:14; Jn. 16:13; Rom. 8:9, 11; 1 Jn. 2:27).
We genuinely believe that these truths will indeed transform the lives of every man, strengthen the church, rescue biblical truths, defend the gospel, purify desires, cultivate joy, aflame the preaching of God’s word, energize the teaching ministry, fortify discipleship, inspire evangelism, empower community outreaches, touch the marginalize, and expand the Christian mission locally and beyond borders.
God’s unbending and unfailing word brings hope to all powerless and helpless sinners. The distinct yet unified work of God the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit as One immutable and Holy God remains to show His glory and sovereign grace by regenerating the underserved dead sinners and sanctifying the unworthy saints. It’s all by God’s grace.
