The answer to this question is plain and simple but not easily accepted by many people even among Christians. The Bible teaches that neither straight men nor women nor Gay people can go to heaven because both are sinners. All people cannot reach heaven.
A heterosexual man does not have any edge or advantage to earn God’s grace, forgiveness, and redemption. The question is a bit biased toward gay or homosexual people as if God is unable to reach and save all homosexuals. More so, it has a distorted view that all heterosexuals are good enough to reach heaven.
What does God say about heterosexuals and homosexuals? Well, they are both sinners! Plain and clear.
Romans 3:23 does not waver in its statement that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We cannot go to heaven; even our good works cannot save us.
Sabi ng 1Cor. 6:9-10, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Here’s a quick list of mixed sinners in these two verses.
Fornicators – sex outside marriage
Idolaters – Replacing the One true God with a false god whatever it is
Adulterers – Sex or relationship and lust with the opposite sex while in marriage
Effeminate – Normalizing femininity while being a man or better to say, affirming “gayness” both in attitude and actions.
homosexuals – an abnormal and unnatural act or behavior toward the same gender, no more, no less.
And so on. All these sins deal with unlawful acts against people’s bodies, souls, and God’s word.
In other words, whatever inclination or affection you have, no one can reach heaven, escape divine punishment, and be saved without God’s work, way, and mercy.
Ang tanging way sa kaligtasan at kalangitan is not by your strength but through Christ Jesus (John 14:6). Repenting from your sins and wicked practices and trusting Jesus as your only Savior is the way to heaven. Salvation is God’s work.
John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
The moment you plead for God’s mercy, grace, and salvation in Christ in faith, I believe God will work and will listen, and by His mercy, you will be saved from God’s wrath. Not because you want to go to heaven but because you want to be with God and escape the terrible penalty of sin (eternal death), the power of sin (its current effect), and the presence (total absence of sin).
So, who gets to heaven?
It is the people who surrender their lives to the Lord Jesus, and the evidence of this submission to Christ is the evident transformation of their lives toward Christlikeness. In other words, there’s a change of direction, affection, and action, and their lives are governed by the authority of God’s word and guided by the work of the Holy Spirit.
The question now is, “Are you this person?” If not, it’s not too late for you to repent from your sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Trust Him and His finished work on the cross.
Sigurado ako di ka bibiguin ni Jesus. Expert si Jesus sa pagliligtas ng makasalanan. Ikaw at ako, parehas tayong makasalanan. Di ako nakalalamang sa iyo at ganon din ikaw sa akin. Si Jesus lang ang pag-asa natin.
Ask for His mercy and saving grace humbly and rely on Him. Find a Bible and Christ-centered church and stay there to know God more and deeper with fellow followers of Christ.
May the Lord bless you with peace and salvation.
