Proverbs 2:7-9

“He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, Guarding the paths of justice, and He preserves the way of His godly ones.”

As we all know, Yahweh is the source of wisdom. He grants this to those who seek and search for it through His word and Him alone. Wisdom is so deep and wide. Sometimes we do not feel that we have wisdom because the moment we say we know everything or understand all things, it means we don’t understand at all.

So, how do we know that we have the wisdom of God aside from believing and knowing God’s existence and His revelation? The evidence is not only having convictions, and unchanging information, by also the application of that wisdom.

It says here, “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.” The idea is protection from doing the wrong things by protecting our testimony, our heart, and the right values. Being “upright” and “walking in integrity” talks about our right standing before God and men. It is doing the right thing both in private and in public life with confidence, without fear and shame regardless of what people or cultures say.

God’s wisdom in us is proven by our uprightness, integrity, and godliness. That is how God protects us, through His wisdom. It is not our innate power for we are weak, it is not our natural knowledge for we are foolish and ignorant, and it is not our strong will for we are apt to faint, but only by God’s guidance, mercy, and faithfulness to grow is in wisdom.

God is wise, whatever happens in this world He will not fail. We may not fully understand our situation today but relying on God’s wisdom will guard our life and will enable us to practice righteousness, justice, and godliness.

Is your life reflecting God’s wisdom?

Do you practice justice, uprightness, integrity, and godliness?

Come to God and ask for wisdom so that our life will bring glory to God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
