This topic is one of the hot potatoes that many Christians avoid, maybe because they do not want to step over the toes of those professing believers who support the notion of “Gay-Christianity” or perhaps afraid of criticism or not wanting to have detractors and enemies.

However, the Bible is not silent on this one. Hence, my motivation is to speak the truth in love for those struggling with this issue, providing encouragement and hope through God’s word.

Here’s the big question, “why do many Christians believe in the notion of “gay”-Christianity? Is it biblical? Is it harmful? What does the Bible say about this issue, and is there hope for people struggling with this sin?

To address these questions, I want to share several points that will help us see the issue from a biblical perspective.

1.    Deception by Satan

1 John 5:19 says, “…The whole world is under the control of the evil one.” Satan is the number one proponent of the “Gay-Christian” ideology. People who advocate for this particular movement (homosexuality and gay Christianity), whether they claim to be Christian or not, are deceived by Satan and advocate of wickedness.

Genesis 1:27-28 says, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that creeps on the earth.”

This evidence shows that every male and female is an image bearer of God and created by God. According to God’s design, there are only two categories of personhood and sexuality: male and female. You are sexual orientation and gender preference is not maliable. There is no in-between, not even half male and female.

Furthermore, Genesis 2:18, 21-24 tells us the will of God for all males and females as suitable beings for human procreation and for creating a God-ordained family.

Verse 18 says, “Then Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”

And verses 21-24 say, “Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. And Yahweh God fashioned the rib, which He had taken from the man, into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This one finally is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called woman; because this one was taken out of Man.” Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Those who claim to be Christians who advocate for LGBTQ+ sinful lifestyles and the gay Christian movement are trapped by delusion and believe in false Christianity.

The Bible is clear that homosexuality is no more or no less perverse, a twisted view of sexuality, abnormal sexual acts, affection, or behavior toward the same sex.

The corrupted affection of mankind cannot change our God-given sexuality. A sexual attraction toward the same sex will never alter the eternal image of God and the biological purpose for fellow man and God. Marriage is only between a man and a woman, designed for human procreation and a God-ordained family.

Therefore, Satan works hard to hide and deform this fundamental and foundational truth from all males and females to destroy God’s design for each person, family, and society.

2.    Distorted Faith

The “Gay-Christian” movement is not just a deception from Satan but also has a distorted faith. I believe that a distorted faith is not a genuine saving faith because it misrepresents the very object of faith (Jesus Christ). One of the marks of a genuine saving faith in Christ is a transforming life towards holiness or godliness, a life consistent with Jesus’s teachings in knowledge and practice.

It is a life committed to living a righteous and pleasing life to God and governed by the authoritative word of God. It is a life that hates sin and embraces and submits to the gracious purpose and leading of the Holy Spirit, which includes recognizing God-given sexuality and gender identity in their life.

The apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.

It is clear that these lists of sins are not God’s will for Christian behavior. If one claims to be a Christian, their homosexual tendencies, affection, and behaviors must be put to death because they cannot be identified with Christ.

Also, this is a reminder to all Christians that such behaviors were all in the past since Christ saved us from God’s wrath through faith alone and by grace alone in Christ alone; the life we all now live must be marked by new affection and new behaviors that are acceptable and honoring in God’s eyes and consistently mortifying the remaining sins in us.

Yes, we still fall to sin, but not in a sinful life pattern or a lifestyle, nor making an opportunity to indulge in sin. But because we still live within our corrupted bodies in a fallen world, our sin must be put to death.

Galatians 5:17 says, “But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you do not do the things that you want.”

True faith in Christ leads to obedience and submission to His mandate and will. One cannot embrace gay-Christian identity or homosexuality and identify oneself as a follower of Christ simultaneously. You cannot serve two masters. It is either you die to your old self for Christ or live in your carnal affections for your sinful pleasures. There is no gray area in this matter.

It is either you believe in the true gospel and the biblical Jesus or believing a false Christ; it’s either you are saved and being saved from the power of sin in Christ or being self-deceived by Satan.

3.    Defective Understanding of the Scriptures

To go further, same-sex romantic relationships and marriage are clearly immoral relationships and detestable according to God’s will and word (holy scriptures). They may argue from a cultural and twisted political and scientific perspective. However, they will still fall short because none of their reasoning is authoritative, scientific, and logical enough to argue against the scriptures’ clarity, authority, and sufficiency concerning this issue.

What the “gay” Christian movement is trying to push forward is to justify their sinful affections and to overthrow the old unwavering, unbending, unapologetic biblical truths about roles and sexuality that God ordained specifically for males and females in all generations to come.

If we observe the Bible carefully, we can see the wisdom of God immediately in the book of Genesis. Since the fall, by default, man is corrupted by sin. Before the fall of man, God already clarified our sexuality and that there is only male and female. To add another one is a misrepresentation of the truth of God’s word (see Genesis 1-3).

The Bible also teaches that the correct and acceptable marriage or sexual union of two people is only between man and woman and not between same-sex or man to any beasts (see Leviticus 20).

It says, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them” (Lev.20:13).

To support same-sex marriage or romantic relationships is an outright rebellion and abomination to God’s perpetual will for males and females, and it’s against His authoritative word.

When someone says, “Christ accepts everyone in the kingdom of God,” I cannot help myself but feel sad and terrified for these people. They do not know what they are talking about. The kingdom of God is not for all and certainly not for the sinners like us but for the holy and redeemed ones.

The big problem is that no one is holy and righteous enough to enter the kingdom of God. No one can enter heaven by his own will, goodness, effort, and power. Only with the imputed righteousness of Christ does God allow us to be with Him.

The apostle Paul says, “he made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him,” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

When we abandon the authority of God’s word in our lives, it will result in many defective teachings and many ungodly practices. That is why our healthy view of God’s word is so important to determine what is true and false and what is safe and deadly pertaining to our identity. And in Christ, we have the truth, the way, and the life (John 14:6).

Therefore, the gay-Christian notion is not based on the biblical gospel and teachings of Christ but a by-product of therapy-driven culture and false and unbiblical Christianity.

The Only Hope

To put it simply, the term “Gay” Christian is not Biblically correct and acceptable because it is confusing and is against the teaching of the gospel and the word of God. It is no less than homosexuality with an angelic mask to be acceptable to the world and the church.

The good news is that hope is available for all people struggling with this sin. God wants this sin to be washed and corrected, and some people (including false converts) need to be rescued, similar to heterosexual sins.

God will not hesitate to forgive our sins if we are humble enough to come to His terms and fully surrender our lives to His merciful hand and holy presence.

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Come to God and confess your sins. Turn away from this deception and run toward God. Repent from your wicked life. Plead to God’s mercy in prayer and contrition of heart.

Acts 3:19 says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” The promise of forgiveness is sure.

Jesus knows that you are tired and without peace because you know that you are against of God and destined to face God’s holy anger. But Christ is a great Savior and loving Lord.

He said in Matthew 11:28-30 to come to Him, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

By trusting Christ Jesus, you can have peace with God, forgiveness, and salvation. This is a sure word that never fails.

John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

Friend, it is never a disgrace for you to believe in and trust Jesus, the Lord and Savior. As you read this, pray to Jesus Christ for your salvation, humble yourself before Him, and trust that He will save you today.

May the Holy Spirit quicken your heart and spirit for His glory and your joy in Christ.
